Robert Smothers is the visionary founder and owner of our company. With an inspiring journey that began over three decades ago, Bob's story is one of passion, perseverance, and unparalleled dedication to his craft.
In 1991, fueled by a relentless entrepreneurial spirit, Bob embarked on a remarkable endeavor. While working full-time in construction, he laid the foundation for our company, starting it as a part-time pursuit. This early venture was a testament to Bob's unwavering commitment and his innate ability to turn passion into a profession.
Bob's love for sports, particularly football and baseball, has been a driving force in his life since childhood. Even in his youth, he displayed a creative flair, as neighborhood kids sought his expertise to decorate their shirts and shoes for their "sandlot" teams. This early knack for customization planted the seed that would eventually blossom into the thriving enterprise that SDG is today.
Though officially retired, Bob's boundless energy and expertise are still in demand within our company. His invaluable guidance and insights continue to shape our operations, ensuring that we uphold the standards of excellence he established from the outset.
Outside of the office, Bob remains an active participant in life, embodying his philosophy of giving everything 100%. Whether he's on the softball field or enjoying a game of croquet, Bob approaches every endeavor with the same fervor and determination that propelled him to success in business.
In a crowning achievement of his dedication and skill, Bob and his teammate recently claimed victory as the 2024 USCA GC National Croquet Champions, a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence in all facets of life.

 

 

Christi Pruett

Vice President of Operations

As the Vice President of Operations, with over two decades of dedicated service to our company, Christi brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to excellence in all aspects of our operations.
Her journey began with a passion for involvement and achievement. Which was evident even in her high school days, where she balanced a myriad of extracurricular activities including cheerleading, volleyball, track, show choir, and marching band. This foundation instilled in her the values of teamwork, discipline, and determination - qualities that continue to drive her professional endeavors today.
Outside of the office, Christi finds joy in staying active, often lacing up her running shoes to participate in 5K races. However, her heart lies in giving back to the community, particularly through her involvement with the Daughters of the Nile philanthropy, where she works to support the noble cause of Shriner's Children's. It's a mission close to her heart, one that underscores the importance of compassion and service in everything she does.
In moments of leisure, you'll often find Christi immersing herself in the vibrant world of Broadway shows, relishing in the magic of live performances. Yet, above all, her greatest source of happiness is found in the cherished moments spent with her beloved grandkids, whose laughter and love light up her world.

 

Angi McDaniel

Vice President of Finances

From humble beginnings as a part-time entry-level employee while pursuing her studies in Business Management, Angi's journey with us spans over two decades, culminating in her current role as Vice President of Finance. Joining the company as a college student, she was driven by a hunger for knowledge and a determination to make a meaningful impact. Over the years, she embraced every opportunity for growth and development, leveraging her education and hands-on experience to navigate the complexities of finance and business operations with precision and insight. Angi applies her wealth of experience and expertise to steer the company's financial strategies towards success to ensure our company's fiscal health and prosperity.
Outside of work, Angi's greatest source of pride and joy lies in her role as a parent. With two remarkable daughters and an outgoing foster son, family remains at the heart of everything she does. She cherishes the moments spent exploring the world with her family, indulging in outdoor adventures, or simply unwinding at home.
The values of compassion, empathy, and resilience that she instills at home are echoed in her leadership style.  All of which foster a culture of collaboration, support, and inclusivity within the organization. Through every endeavor, she remains deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and experiences that have shaped her journey.  And as we continue to innovate, grow, and evolve together, Angi feels honored to play a part in shaping the future and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

 

Lisa "Yogi" Berra

Vice President of Creative Services

Lisa is a seasoned veteran at our company with an impressive 21 years of dedicated service. Beginning her journey as a graphic artist and part-time number printer, Lisa’s creative flair and strategic vision propelled her through the ranks to her current role as Vice President of Creative Services.
Lisa's knack for creativity isn't confined to the office; she's a powerhouse on and off the field. During her college years, she showcased her athleticism as a player on both the softball and basketball teams. This competitive spirit continued post-graduation, where she found success in competitive slow-pitch softball, helping her team clinch the title of National Champion, twice.
Beyond the realm of sports, Lisa finds solace and adventure in outdoor activities. Whether it's cycling through scenic routes, participating in 5k runs, conquering mini triathlons, or exploring nature through hiking trails, she embraces the thrill of the outdoors with enthusiasm.
Lisa is also involved with the Central Indiana Lab Rescue and Adoption (CILRA), where she channels her passion for animals, ensuring that every furry friend finds a loving home.
